Contraindications - Do not use in case of cardiac, pulmonary, or respiratory insufficiencies, acute hypertension, diabetes or during pregnancy.

Application - Fill bath with water 105 F - 113 F maximum temperature, or as hot as comfort allows. Empty contents under running water. Be sure to eat a light snack prior to bathing.

Submerge and minimize movement, as the bath water may feel hotter than the actual temperature. Wipe face with a cool washcloth as needed.

If dizziness occurs, leave bath immediately. Remain In the bath no longer than 20 minutes.

After bathing, wrap in a sheet and lay down on a flat surface. Cover body with 2-3 warm blankets. Place a towel around head and neck. Do not use a pillow. Continue to wipe face with a cool, wet wash cloth. Perspiration time is 25-30 minutes. Be aware that patient now has an elevated temperature which may last up to 3 hours, so take precautions: keep covered, avoid drafts, and if patient is bathing at home, it is best to retire for the evening.

Adaptation -

Adaptation is a very important factor in this treatment. A series of 9 baths over a 21 day period is recommended. The first step in adaptation is heat. During the bath, the body will adjust to the heat, allowing you to add more heat without burning the skin.

Do not exceed a temperature of 114 degrees F. Do not exceed the patient's personal comfort level. After some time, the body accepts this type of heat, and changes and benefits become evident.

At first, 7-10 minutes of submersion is sufficient. Gradually work up to 20 minutes maximum. This process is extremely important, as you cannot break the adaptation process.

The process can be compared to taking a course of antibiotics. Taking the antibiotics will begin the healing process. However, if the prescription is not taken in total as directed, the full benefits of the remedy will not be realized.

Dosage - A treatment series of 9 baths in 21 days is needed to achieve the maximum desired benefits. The baths should be taken 3 times a week. After the initial series, depending on the requirement of the individual, a follow-up treatment plan of one bath per week should be sufficient for maintenance and prevention.

For Chronic/Severe conditions a treatment series of 21 baths is recommended, taking a bath every other day.
